admin
Two men have been arrested for allegedly harassing, assaulting and robbing a man who was wearing a red "Make America Great Again" hat in Maryland. Jovan Crawford, 27, and Scott Duncan Roberson, 25, are facing robbery and assault charges for an April 13 incident that occurred in Germantown, police said in a Monday release. They allegedly approached the victim and began harassing him about the hat, which was popularized by President Donald Trump's 2016 election campaign. Police say the victim told Crawford and Roberson he was "entitled to his own views and kept walking away." The two men are accused of striking the victim until he fell to the ground and demanding that he take off the hat. Police say the men then removed property from the victim and destroyed items. Police say Crawford and Roberson were later found hiding among kids playing basketball. Local TV station FOX 5 DC has identified the victim as Atsu Nable, a U.S. citizen who emigrated from Togo in West Africa. There have been numerous other documented confrontations involving Trump's signature hat, including an incident earlier this month that led to a woman losing her job after an incident at a California Starbucks where she reportedly berated a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
