admin
BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Gas prices continue to be all across the board in Bay County, with some stations charging double digits more than the next. Now, the American Automobile Association warns Florida drivers the prices could get worse. AAA officials said Monday gas prices in Florida are likely to rise this week. They said oil and wholesale gasoline prices surged to their highest levels since November, raising the average price of gas anywhere from 10-20 cents higher. On Monday AAA reports Florida gas prices average around $2.23 per gallon but here in the Panhandle we still are plagued with costs much higher as price gouging continues to be a concern following Hurricane Michael. Many gas stations on Panama City Beach charged lower than in Panama City, which is not typically a trend seen in the area. Attorney General Ashley Moody's office has opened an investigation into the prices saying if anyone is found to have violated the law, they will hold them accountable.
