admin
BAY COUNTY, Fla. - Great news for Bay District School families! The district announced they will give free breakfast and lunch to all non charter students for the rest of the year. They say based on data submitted to the federal government, they were granted an extension. Charter schools must submit their own data for approval. However, Bay Haven Charter Academy officials said the K through 8 grades were approved for free breakfast and lunch the remainder of the year as well as the next three years. North Bay Haven Charter Academy, the high school, will go back to normal food service after February 1st. "I believe the extension will be really helpful to all our families. It will be one less thing families have to worry about and they will be provided free meals the rest of the school year," said deputy superintendent Sandra Davis. District officials encourage parents to continue to apply and fill out any food service forms that go home with their child. This helps the district determine the need in the community.
