Bonifay, Fla. - The man accused of killing three linemen in a wreck is facing new charges.

22-year-old Ryan Barrett of Roanoke Rapids NC, Chipley resident James Ussery, 60, and North Carolina resident George Cesil, 52, all died after they were struck by a vehicle allegedly being driven by 37-year-old John Goedtke, of Tampa.

The Florida Highway Patrol wrote that Goedtke was traveling northbound on State 77 towing a U-Haul trailer near Talton Drive. Goedtke's vehicle left the roadway and struck the three utility workers as they were standing in a ditch attempting to restore power along State 77.

Goedtke fled the scene and was captured by the Washington County Sheriff's Office, troopers wrote.

On Wednesday, prosecutor Larry Basford filed new charges in the case.

Goedtke is now charged with three counts of vehicular homicide, leaving the scene of a crash involving death and driving while license canceled, suspended or revoked causing serious bodily injury or death.
