admin
BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) - Ever since Hurricane Michael passed, you might have noticed some additional red and blue lights in our area. That's because law enforcement agencies across the state deployed about six-hundred additional officers to assist Bay County. According to Panama City Police Chief Scott Ervin, the officers have helped with operations like search and rescue and calls for service. "Of course that number will ebb-and-flow as some deploy back, some get activated to come up. National guard assets were also brought in to help with security, patrols, humanitarian efforts," Ervin said. The additional officers are in Bay County for five to seven days at a time.
