BAY COUNTY, Fla (Press Release) - The Bay County Commissioners have extended the local state of emergency for seven days. They say it may be extended further if necessary.

Here's the latest information:

BURN BAN: The EOC has requested for Bay County Commissioners to implement a county wide burn ban due to public safety issues. They say the amount of smoke filling the community is causing additional problems.

DEBRIS REMOVAL: Debris removal services will additionally be offered on private properties. Costs for this will likely not reimbursed by FEMA, according to county manager. CURFEW: Citizens are asking for the curfew to be extended. It has been extended in Panama City Beach: 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

TRASH: County landfill is open. Household garbage can be taken there.

POWER: Gulf Power officials say they are confident that 95% of customers who can take power should be restored by October 24th. All Gulf Power crew members on duty are working 16 hour shifts.
