admin
Rachel Maddow just had her most-watched week of all-time, and the MSNBC anchor can thank Paul Manafort, Hurricane Florence and Michael Cohen for the record. “The Rachel Maddow Show” had its 10-year anniversary on September 8. For the week of September 10, 2018, she celebrated with her biggest audience ever. Covering both literal and political storms and hosting a sit-down with Bob Woodward Tuesday, “Maddow” averaged 3.43 million total viewers each night, per live-plus-same-day ratings from Nielsen, with 667,000 of them coming from the coveted adults 25-54 demographic. Maddow’s weeknight primetime block (the media personality is the 9 o’clock hour that carries MSNBC’s 8 p.m.-11 p.m. day part) competed with all originals and regular hosts to become the No. 1 cable news program for the week of Sept. 10, beating both Fox News and CNN in the 25-54 range and overall eyeballs. On Sept. 14, “The Rachel Maddow Show” was the most-watched program across all television, beating all other broadcast and cable shows in total viewers (with an average of 3.66 million) and was the No. 1 cable program Friday night in both the key cable news demo and total audience count. That marks the first time ever any MSNBC program has ranked No. 1 for a night in primetime among total viewers. To give you a little more context for these stats, Maddow’s competitor Sean Hannity interviewed Rudy Giuliani on his Fox News program, “Hannity,” that night.
