Congress To Hold Off On Border Wall Funding Until After Midterm Elections

Congress votes to hold off on securing funding for the border wall until after midterm elections.

Lawmakers made the decision Thursday, in an effort to avoid a possible government shutdown.

Before the move, Congress had until September 30th to sign off on a new financial package

The decision will extend a lifeline to several pending funding bills for the military and energy sectors, which were due to run out on October first.

This comes after President Trump signaled he may consider a government shutdown if congress did not pass a fair deal to fund the border wall.
