Guest Dwight C
Food worker at Bay Medical Sacred Heart accused of sexual battery on a patient A man who worked at Bay Medical Sacred Heart Hospital with an independent contractor is facing a sexual battery charge after police say he touched a patient inappropriately. Panama City police say in August, Barry Shaw, 51, who was a contracted food service worker at the hospital, took the victim's food order and delivered her food. They say during a visit to the victim's room, Shaw touched her inappropriately. According to arrest reports from the police department, Shaw admitted to doing so saying he did it because "he was being a pervert." Shaw was arrested Wednesday. Thursday he was before a judge, who set his bond at $15,000. Bay Medical Sacred Heart released this statement Thursday afternoon: “We are working with authorities to ensure a thorough and complete investigation of this situation. The individual involved is not our employee and worked for an independent contractor. He was immediately removed from the campus when the incident was reported to us and is no longer allowed on the property. We remain committed first and foremost to the care and safety of our patients and will continue to fully cooperate with authorities.”
