Guest Dwight C
Public Health Advisory issued for Saginaw River in Bay County Public health officials are urging the people to avoid contact with the Saginaw River in Bay County. Routine surface water samples taken on Tuesday showed potentially hazardous levels of bacteria. The levels exceed Michigan's standards for full body contact or partial body contact for recreational purposes. Water sampling will continue and the advisory will be lifted when bacteria levels fall to an acceptable level. Until then, the public should avoid swimming, wading, fishing or any activity that involves touching water along the river.
