Mike Peer
North Bay Haven Band Director Arrested in Prostitution Sting Panama City, Fla. - The band director for North Bay Haven Charter Academy was arrested Thursday for solicitation of prostitution. Neil Gray, 50, was scheduled to take a group of students to a band competition in Orlando Friday morning but did not show up because he was still in jail. North Bay Haven officials confirmed that Gray is suspended and that the students were taken to the competition by another teacher. Gray used Facebook to make contact with someone he thought was a prostitute but was instead an undercover Panama City police officer, according to his arrest affidavit. During the communications, he agreed to pay $200 for sexual acts and described what he wanted, the affidavit states. He then went to meet the prostitute but was instead met by officers and arrested. "We are investigating and will continue to investigate anyone involved with sex trafficking on the internet," said Capt. Paul Powell of the Panama City Police Department. Gray was scheduled for his first appearance in front of a judge Friday morning.
