The C House, the restaurant in which everything begins with a C, champagne, charcuterie and cheesecake has finally opened at 6005 N Florida Ave in Seminiole Heights as of Saturday (March 24).

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS— A restaurant serving only food that starts with one letter seems hard to come by, but Danna Haydar has found a way to succeed with all things beginning with the letter C, at the new C-House located at 6005 N. Florida Ave. in Seminole Heights.

The restaurant, which took over a transmission shop, held three soft openings throughout the month and just celebrated their grand opening on March 24.

The Seminole Heights native owner says some of her favorite foods start with a C and when she decided to open a restaurant many were skeptical but after a long road trip of brainstorming ideas she was amazed at how much could be sold with a C and just ran with the idea.

"It just spoke to me and the C-House belonged in Seminole Heights," Haydar said.

"The goal is to definitely stay true to the roots in what Seminole Heights stands for which is a high degree of pride, sense of ownership and community, but also bring something that Seminole Heights currently doesn’t have to the area."

The C House focuses on "The Big 3" as Haydar calls it, which includes champagne, charcuterie, and cheesecake, but has a full menu of brunch and dinner items that start with a C featuring "community shareables" (appetizers) such as crab cakes, Canadian fries and calamari, and other entrees like cheesy mac, chili (both classic and vegetarian), Caesar and California Cobb salads, cheeseburgers, chickpea burger, caprese sandwiches, chicken and dumplings, and more.

In addition to food, they offer wine like Chardonnay, cocktails and craft beer which just happen to start with a C, and sell desserts like cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, croissants, chocolate and cookies from its standalone bakery.

Haydar says the C-House also sells retail items like coasters, candles, cocktail napkins, classic wood pieces and more.

Prices range anywhere from $4.50 to $13 and the C-House operates Monday through Friday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturdays and Sundays they operate for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a limited menu until 5 pm and serve dinner from 5 to 12 a.m.
