PANAMA CITY BEACH — Locals have reported sightings of the cast and crew of MTV’s “Floribama Shore” this month, fueling speculation season two of the reality show is currently being filmed.

The News Herald contacted MTV officials to confirm if filming was underway for “Floribama Shore.” An MTV spokesperson said officials are “not able to comment on shows in production.”

MTV announced earlier this year that the show was cleared for a second season and based on social media posts and water cooler talk they are in town now and making their presence known in the special way only they could conjure.

“Floribama Shore” premiered in November, as cameras followed eight young adults who were trying to piece together their lives while vacationing in Panama City Beach. The cast members were seen fighting, partying, bonding, and becoming a family on the show. The show also featured two Bay County locals, Kortni Gilson and Nilsa Prowant.

One woman tweeted on March 24 that her father did Jell-O shots with some of the Floribama cast at Moe’s Original Bar B Que in Panama City Beach. “So my dad texted me just now and told me he did Jell-O shots with some of the cast of @FloribamaShore today at Moe’s BBQ in PCB and he had to sign a release and everything is going to be on an episode of the show. I am dying,” she tweeted. She included the text exchange to verify his story.

A manager at the restaurant could not confirm or speak about the filming of the show.

A News Herald photographer got aerial footage of film crews and cameras at the home where it’s believed the show is being filmed. He got the pictures by chance because he was on a ride-along in the Bay County Sheriff’s Office helicopter earlier this month and recognized the production. Cameramen and people on the balcony of the home can be seen in the photo.

The exact premiere date of season two, which will have 20 episodes and air over the summer, said an MTV spokesperson, has not been announced.
