Eagle Nest Employees Recall Armed Suspect Incident

PANAMA CITY, Fla. - A calmer scene Tuesday in the Cove after Monday's scare involving an armed suspect in the area. But things are not in the clear yet, authorities are still searching for the suspect.
Police say the suspect is a white male, 5-9, medium build and was wearing a black hoodie and jeans. Authorities searched all day for the man who allegedly tried to rob Eagle Nest Christian Academy in the Cove.
A receptionist at the school experienced the panic Monday first hand. She said the man came into the building and demanded money from her.
The receptionist immediately called 911 but the school's principal says it was a terrifying experience they will never forget.

"I know that you keep money up here. After he said that to her, she thought it was a joke, It was Monday morning and people play and tease a lot around here and then he began to use profanity and that's how we knew for a fact that he was not playing at all," said Principal Eagle Nest Christian Academy, Dr. Janet Preyer.

Officials with the church say they have received plenty of support from the community after the panic and are now rethinking security measures. Holy Nativity Episcopal school was closed Tuesday as a precaution.

If you have any information regarding this incident, you're urged to call crime stoppers.
